DESIRE aims to bridge the gap between technical research and the provision
of real end user services. As the DESIRE work progresses, technology demonstrators
will be presented here to illustrate the engineering and usability challenges
addressed by DESIRE research, and to showcase emerging services which use
the technologies investigated by DESIRE.
Distributed Search Demonstrators
The following demonstrations showcase two different approaches to building
a Web-based interface for distributed searching. DESIRE is investigating
technological and usability issues surrounding the creation of user interfaces
for multi-database search clients. Future demos will show this new interface
alongside the existing ROADS and CHIC approaches.

Demos are currently in preparation to show various other aspects of DESIRE
research.
