The Second Web Cache Managers Workshop was organised by TERENA in Budapest, the capital of Hungary, on 2-3 March 2000.

The Workshop was hosted by the Computer and Automation Research Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences MTA/SZTAKI. An earlier workshop was held in Utrecht, The Netherlands, on 25-26 February 1999.

The workshops was targeted to web cache managers and administrators from the academic community as well as from commercial ISPs. Lectures were held about caching architectures and communication protocols, cache monitoring and analysis and more interesting topics. In addition, practical hands on about cache meshes building were successfully carried out. A final session summarised the most recent developments and research issues. The workshop payed special attention to the local developments in Central and Eastern European Countries.

The workshop was attended by 19 participants from eight different European countries.16 people returned the Evaluation form that was distributed on site. The report on the feedback of participants is available as a separate document.
