  Two DESIRE based workshops have recently been announced; the Second Web Cache Managers workshop and an Indexing Workshop.

  The DESIRE Information Gateways Handbook has been released and is now available.

• 1999-08-04
  A number of new Deliverables and Reports now available including a review of caching technologies and prototype RDF rating services. Full details can be found on the Deliverables page.

  Version 2 of DESIRE's Internet Detective has just been released. Internet Detective is an interactive tutorial on evaluating the quality of Internet resources. See the press release for full details.

  Book on our Metadata Workshop on 20 September 1999 in Bristol, UK - a rare opportunity to hear authorities from the USA and Europe speak simply but in detail about Metadata.

  Desire activities in the news: in the UK the BBC have picked up and referenced several Desire related activities as part of the BBC campaign "Web Wise". Full details are available from the BBC Trusty Guide to Internet Research
